Especially football commentators.Pougatch mainly does football, I think. Never a good idea to have a commentator do a different sport.
Aye, thought that was exceptionally odd when I heard "now to take-up the commentary, Mark Pougatch".Pougatch mainly does football, I think. Never a good idea to have a commentator do a different sport.
Yeah, we've got a bad case of that in New Zealand. For some idiotic reason Ian Smith covers rugby games, and quite often Grant Nisbett does cricket. Both are quite poor.Pougatch mainly does football, I think. Never a good idea to have a commentator do a different sport.
Easily the worst commentator in world cricket IMO. Actually have to mute the TV when he starts a stint.Rangit Fernando is pretty bad.
Yeah Nasser's my favourite commentator.I rate him very highly still. Does more than simply call the play and unafraid to voice a genuine opinion, which is an affliction many recently-retired players suffer from.
After watching the IPL coverage in India I'd have to say Kris Srikkanth is infinitely worse. Heard terrible reviews about Srinath and Sidhu as well.Easily the worst commentator in world cricket IMO. Actually have to mute the TV when he starts a stint.
Fourth best commentator ever.Don't get me started on Cozier.

Blofeld is a true radio legend. No one who heard it has ever forgotten his commentary on the late 70's tour of Pakistan when Geoff Cope was bowling to Mudassar Nazar and he somehow managed to describe Geoff Capes bowling to Don Mosey.Blofeld & Reeve are in a league of their own.
Haha, at least you're starting to beleive me when I say Johnston is a tool. That said, I don't find Smithy that good at the rugby, not really sure what it is about him.![]()
Smith is one of our better sideline men in rugby commentary - doesn't lose the plot like Tony Johnston. Not sure what games you're watching.
