Of those guys it’s between Williamson and De Villiers. Williamson’s technique is so great to watch, and DeVilliers’ unique style is near flawless. That’s not to say I don’t rate the other two far behind

ABDV is much better batman against moving ball than even Smith.. It's as if quality of opposition bowling or pitch conditions are completely irrelevant to him. Has definitely underachieved in this format (not often when you say that for a guy averaging 50).

If ABDV is so good against the moving ball he should bat higher. Smith is the better all- conditions batsman. ABDV has underperformed in tests.

ABDV had a tendency to enter god mode. Smith has it permanently turned on.

Hmm, let's see who makes more Test runs over the next year. That should decide it.

If conditions are extremely difficult/impossible to play in I'd take AB. Dude comes in, counter attacks and looks like he's playing in a different match from everyone else. Problem is he plays the same knock even when conditions aren't as difficult and often fails to make bigger scores.

At their best, ABDV is a level above any other batsman including Smith.. I agree he is less consistent though.

Smith is ridiculously good in decent batting conditions which are far more common than difficult conditions. So, overall he is more likely to make impact than any other player.

Voted for ABD because who doesn't love him!

Is ABD the Viv Richards of present times? Both of them have relatively less remarkable test stats but clearly had ability to counterattack that is a level above their peers.

AB's last two Test series have been epic in terms of making an impact. Earlier his contributions tended to get a bit overshadowed by Smith/Kallis/Amla batting above him, now he's the main man and revelling in it.

Dunno why people are saying Smith, this isn't a poll for "The Best Banned Test Batsman"
It's not even a poll for the best Test batsman in a world, it just says "better". It's just a poll with four names on it, asking us to pick one. If the poll asked us to compare Dinesh Chandimal to Faf du Plessis that'd be a perfectly valid poll as well.

Not much in it on current form between Kohli and de Villiers. AB has enhanced his career standing immensely since his comeback. Keeps playing great knocks in difficult conditions.
