Agra, December 18
Shiv Sena activists on Wednesday dug up the pitch at the Eklavya Sports Stadium here in an attempt to disrupt a cricket match between Indian and Pakistani veterans. Police arrested five people who were allegedly involved in the incident and tightened security at the stadium.
The match is scheduled for December 24.
About a dozen Shiv Sena men caught the organisers and security staff off guard and entered the stadium at night, probably by scaling a boundary wall. They dug up the pitch and poured oil over it.
The sainiks said they were acting on the directions of their chief, Bal Thackeray
Well thats the second time they did that, last time when Pakistan toured India (in '99) Shiv Sena's activists did exactly the same thing!!
