(apologies if this is somewhere else, but I searched and couldn't see anything)

So, after the last epic season where we saw both Steve Smith and Marnus Lasagne flattened by scorching deliveries from Jofra Archer; JL kicking a rubbish bin over and then picking and all the rubbish up again; Khawaja telling JL some players were walking on egg shells around him (oh whatever could that revelation bring?); and that ****ing Headingley test again, we're now onto season 2. It has a handsome new male lead and the fairytale around Scott Boland. I watched the first two episodes last night, and it was good stuff.

In order to keep this spoiler free, I shall say no more.

Watched the first 2 episodes last night. Take so far.......Cummins is just a great bloke, which I'm realy not comfortable with, I much prefer when Australian test captains are *****.

Also,.you just gotta love Khawaja......blokes a cool character and it's hard to not be happy for the success he's enjoying now after being shafted for so long.

Smith and Labu are just very odd.

Khawaja being shafted is a myth IMO. If anything the selectors stuck with him a bit longer than they should have back around 2017, 2018

He should have been in over Harris for the last Ashes but that's about it, easy to forget now he's doing so well but he was genuinely terrible against spin and didn't achieve what he should have.

I'm bit reluctant to watch this since I'm not sure there is a good enough climax in this one like the last one which ended with the Ashes

Yeah Australia have not been blessed with an abundance of world class test batsmen over the last few years so those suggesting he was treated unfairly are just wrong. He was an erratic test batsmen for most of his career who had pretty bang average numbers.

Australia like most elite test nations will drop players if they are not performing and until his recent comeback his test career wasn't that impressive.

If anything Australia deserve credit for never discarding him.

This seems counter intuitive to me......we're struggling for world class batsmen so let's leave out the bloke that that has at least shown he has that potential?

I distinctly remember a time here when everyone was clamouring for his selection even Burgey who was never a fan.

I agree on Smith and Labuchampagne - very odd characters. If anything, at least Labu comes across as being more aware of his quirks and more socially capable. Smith's interactions with others leave you wondering sometimes if he isn't at least partly a throwback to when there was a hierarchy within the team. There's an acidic nature to some of the jibes at Labu etc that sometimes make you wonder whether he's joking or not.

It's great to get more insight into Khawaja, even if I found myself shouting "Nobody puts Scotty in the corner (next to the cups and coffee machine)!" at one stage.

Cummins is Cummins - smart, debonair, handsome, skilled, athletic, owns the room when he walks in. If he was an actress, he would be Marilyn Monroe standing over that grate.

They appear to have got the onfield stuff out of the way faster in this season (although that is partly England's fault). I wonder what could be coming next...

The only time I can think of that Khawaja was left out for an inferior option was last summer's Ashes. Other than that I don't think he was ever left out when it hasn't been perfectly justified.

It appears I forgot about the other onfield stuff after The Ashes. I particularly enjoyed Marnus rocking up in Pakistan with a $6k coffee machine.

Up to episode 3 now, just as good as the first one. Boland is such an introvert, loved how embarrassed he looked when the crowd really got behind him.

Also why is Cummins so perfect
Stop liking Australian cricketers it's not right

Enjoyed the doco but didn't feel as intrusive as the first season? Maybe just the length of it contributed to that.
