The legacy of Chris Cairns

if flintoff puts up those performances and numbers for sri lanka, nobody cares except migara in random threads not about flintoff

the joe public consensus would be 'had a good home series against aus without mcgrath that one year, makes him a bit of a home track bully, spent most of his career being crap'

flintoff was world class in the end, and massively dines out on showing up with a bag of mints in crickets highest profile series.

kapil, flintoff and cairns are all pretty comparable performers with kapil managing to last a lot longer. of course as jbmac notes none can hold a candle to lance cairns as match winners.

Sobers, Imran, Miller, Faulkner, Botham, Dev, Kallis, Shakib are guys one would have ahead for certain. Then you have your Hadlees, Pollocks and Benauds who may or may not be depending on how you rate all rounders and all rounderiness.

Gregory, Goddard and Mankad three more names CW considered to be better

I'll throw Armstrong Mushtaq Mo in the mix too. But Cairns is certainly the same level as that lot at least.

He took 24 wickets at 27. It was a moderately good series of bowling. Gotta be the most underwhelming whelming performance in sports history.
Flintoff looked genuinely threatening in that series. Stats just look pretty standard but he really shook a few of the Aust batsmen up, and specifically he sorted out Gilly, from memory

You can successfully stent an aortic dissection, but it depends what condition he was in when they found him.

Quickest way to bleed out is thru an aortic tear or aneurysm.

also flintoff is a legit atg ODI bowler and would make it in a 2ng xi atg lineup even without his batting

he did it in the 00s and not in the 90s either

Whatever it takes!!!
Good to read. :) Also was very pleasantly pleasing that in an exceedingly binary, black and white type of world, the actual outpouring of concern and wishes towards him.
