well done rahm! feel for oosthuizen though, yet another runner-up...what a horrible mistake to make at 17 with the drive...

8 over 44 back nine for dechambeau, that too after going bogey-free for 30 previous holes!

The Open field is thinning out by the day. Zach Johnson, Louis de Jager, Bubba Watson and Hideki Matsuyama among the big names who are not playing.

hideki is the only significant absentee from that list, johnson and watson missing it isn't going to reduce the quality of the field and de Jager is not a big name...?!

How's Dean Burmester's scorecard in round two of the Scottish Open? Two over for the day on the 12th tee, finished with 66, having shot four scores of two in a row:

12th - birdie 2 from a foot away
13th - eagle 2 from 178 yards out
14th - birdie two from 6 feet
15th - eagle two from 222 yards

Ridiculous

Cameron Smith 18 putts in his second round 62 on the PGA Tour. Can't say I've hear of that before.
he equalled the record for lowest number of putts in a round...but apparently it has happened 11 other times before...

Nelly Korda wins Olympic gold, so many young female golfers seem to have a quick burst of wins at a young age, then not really consolidate Ochoa, Park, Pak, Webb, Tseng. Think the LPGA needs a star, and it wouldn't hurt for success in America if she was tall, blonde and attractive. She is very good, hope she can keep it up.

There are kangaroos on quite a few courses around the country. I've played at Yamba, and they have kangaroos there. It makes for a nice day out. What doesn't make for a nice day out is when the course has copperhead/brown snakes, or bull sharks in the water hazards.
