Hi all,
It's been 10 years since the first version so let's have another go with the newest generation of Ashes forumers, and presumably a bunch of you who in the intervening time are yet to go anywhere.
If you're new, the idea here is we sign up with a virtual cricketer who represents you as I sim a version of this years' Ashes and pit the two sets of fans against each other even more so than they are already.
Those of you who aren't England or Aus supporters should sign up as 'International'. You'll get a gig in the warm ups and possibly other series in the future if I get that far.
To sign up your player you need to make a post in here with:
Player Name: ([First name] [Last name])
Player Role: (Batsman / Wicket Keeper / Allrounder / Bowler)
Batting position: (Opener / Middle Order / Lower Order)
Bowling Style: (Fast / Fast-Medium / Medium / Off Spin / Leg Spin)
Team: (England/Australia/International)*
For example
Player Name: Jake Howe
Player Role: Batsman
Batting position: Middle Order
Bowling Style: Off Spin
Team: England
*No taking the piss
If you want to put your hand up to select the teams, go ahead. I'll do a couple of warm ups for each side, posted most likely this weekend, so you can get a feel for who to pick. Obviously if you do this you'll need to be around for the whole series, as I'll be posting each day (hopefully) right before the real day's play.
