Oh come on, the guy is a dead set tool. I CBF right now but I shall hunt out some of his quotes to present my argument
If Livingstone is a tool, I'd hate to think of what Boris Johnson is, he Bloke has the worst case of foot-in-mouth disease that I've ever seen.

BoJo is a complete muppet, I wouldn't be surprised if the 2012 games were cancelled due to his incompetence.

"if they're not happy they can always go back to Iran and see if they can do better under the Ayatollahs"

foot-in-mouth you say?

For every stupid comment that Livingston has made, your friend Boris has made about 50. Anyways, you'd be hard pressed to find a politician who hasn't said somethiong stupid.

Not disputing Boris says some odd things, anyhow as I say I'll find some more Ken ones just so it doesn't seem I'm being anti-Labour for the sake of it

I think you are understating the amount of things Boris has said, some of them weren't just 'strange' as you said. Admitted, Ken's statement you quote was pretty idiotic, but as I said, what politician doesn't say stupid things?

Nah, it's only London. If it was somewhere in the Northwest, well that would be an important position

Finegold: Mr Livingstone, Evening Standard. How did tonight go?
Livingstone: How awful for you. Have you thought of having treatment?
Finegold: How did tonight go?
Livingstone: Have you thought of having treatment?
Finegold: Was it a good party? What does it mean for you?
Livingstone: What did you do before? Were you a German war criminal?
Finegold: No, I'm Jewish, I wasn't a German war criminal and I'm actually quite offended by that. So, how did tonight go?
Livingstone: Ah right, well you might be Jewish, but actually you are just like a concentration camp guard, you are just doing it because you are paid to, aren't you?
Finegold: Great, I have you on record for that. So, how was tonight?
Livingstone: It's nothing to do with you because your paper is a load of scumbags and reactionary bigots.
Finegold: I'm a journalist and I'm doing my job. I'm only asking for a comment.
Livingstone: Well, work for a paper that doesn't have a record of supporting fascism.

Sorry, but old red Ken is a tool, always has been, always will be. Even his own party knew that (though backed down when they found out he was a popular tool, oh how New Labour held those standards high).

Boris gets painted as a bit of a muppet, but y'know, back in the olden days everyone laughed at the court jester, but he was the only one who could get away with telling the King how it is. Behind that public image of the foppy haired public schoolboy with no social grace is actually quite a decent political mind (Christ sake if he survived the debacle that was the Conservates between 94 and 05 and come out both in positions of trust and being liked then he must be doing something right). Be nice to have a mayor not in the pockets of big business, might actually get the olympics sorted on time, because lets face it, if its owt like Wembley or the Millenium Dome, were ****ed.

And dont worry Martyn, we can both get knocked out in round one through a political witchhunt....

If you're basing success on events taking place without failure, Ken managed to get the Tour de France running in London without a hitch. Cost 2 mil to happen, but London was absolutely mobbed that weekend.

The problem with forums is that they are usually weighted towards a heavy student/late teens-early 20s membership, both of these groups tend to have a disporportionate amount of liberals and socialists in comparison to the rest of the population

I mean being a Tory round these parts (or a foreign equivalent, Republican etc) is heavily stigmatised yet in this country is is the most popular party atm, in terms of opinion polls, and also according to local elections.
