Provided the response time and a few basics are satisfactory, a forum is, in my opinion, no more and no less than the sum of its contributors - and Cricket Web is fortunate to have a hard core of people who are willing to make a thoughtful contribution.

You (not you personally) can have the slickest-looking site with all whistles and bells, flash everywhere and the like, but without the right contributors, it would just be an empty shell.

I agree totally, my point excatly that I tried to make in the last page, content Is by far and away the more important aspect.. there is no way in the world that you can find a colour theme that every single user is going to love

Blue is a pretty safe colour, it's alot of people's favourite colour and alot of sites use it, however iam sure it's the Orange that most don't like, but I can tell you it was a nightmear to find a colour that went well with the Blue, seriously try it... Me and James tried 100's of colours and we come up with about 3 possibles of which the Orange won

Most certianly is:

User CP > Edit Options > Very bottom of page > Edit Style (drop down menu)


Basically it means we can have this theme as a default set when people sign up and first use it etc, but if they don't like it they could chose one of the other styles we create.

Not sure if you have MS Win XP but it works the same as that, the first colour you see is Blue, but you can change it to Green or Silver as well.

Nothing but liked I said before,

- It hasn't ever been at the top of the to do list, there has always been more important things "In Our Opinion" to be done, and with alot of projects being worked on at the moment it probley wont get a slot for a while either. (Has an idea will speak to James)

- What colours do you all want? (iam feeling some nice Kent colours comming on )

- Umm Other points I have missed feel free to add your onw, points here

Not really sure Neil, James is quite quick at doing it... but I found a nice way of testing it really quickly if you fire of some colours.

Slivery/gray, light green and white works quite well (see image) - If you could find the right way to put them, very easy on the eyes.

I say stick to the basics and that means basic colours. I like CW for what it is, simple yet good to look at. A lot of other forums have modern, technological looks and it looks crap. Ours is sweet.

Anyway, I would be VERY keen on a magazine. If it does go underway, I would be more then happy to contribute.
