Fantastic read. Thoroughly enjoyed it. He must have been so highly thought of. When Benaud spoke of him in that Calypsp Summer doco about the 60/61 series, you could see the affection for Slasher every time.

'Slasher' was the name of a feral cat that my dad decided to adopt. Got his name from his first interaction with Howe snr which went poorly. He had an extra toe on each paw.

I concede that my first thoughts at the thread title aren't really relevant but hey ho. Thanks for the article Fred.
