Gutted at getting a first baller against Balaji, even if it did pitch 3 foot outside leg and was missing off.

I blame Asoka.

VETERANS XI 226/9 50.0 overs
CRICKET WEB 'A' 229/6 44.0 overs

Cricket Web 'A' won by 4 wickets

Man of the match: Bugssy

Coach's Comments:
Great bowling early on from Mr Wright and R_Powell_fan. We lost the plot a bit in the middle overs, but finished well. After trading Gotchya for Smith and Rik departed, Marc and Bugssy proceeded to attack the bowling of Khan, Botham and Ambrose with good success. Bugssy played another stunning innings but it was a solid knock from Age Master which saw us home. Well played again! 2 game winning streak...
---
CRICKET WEB 'B' 294/6 50.0 overs
BANGLADESH 187/8 50.0 overs

Cricket Web 'B' won by 107 runs

Man of the match: Vishnu Reddy

Coach's Comments:
Craig played a Gilchristesque innings to send us flying, with Samuel Vimes playing in good support. The middle order faltered to big shots, but Vishnu Reddy stuck around and executed superbly, launching 4 sixes. Imran Khan Jr. then took 16 off the 49th over in playing for a mature, thinking half-century. With the ball, we set back Bangladesh early with two questionable LBW decisions, and they never recovered. All except Samuel Vimes got a bowl because the match was soon well beyond the reach of the Bangladeshis. David Jr. continued his form and all the main bowlers looked sharp. Well played! 2 game winning streak...

Fantastic performance, Was there live.. If you look at the scorecard carefully (under partnerships) it says that we lost 5 wickets for 166 runs but then Vishnureddy smacked the ball around with me supporting him at the other end, but in the 49th over I thought what the hell smashed 4 fours and we ended up with a 127 run partnership from only 123 balls, Craig and Sam did exceptionally well to get you to 94 in just 85 balls, then David Jr. well bowled well, I've improved with the bat but need more time in the bowling department..just warming up. :saint:

edit: Also if it weren't for my late onslaught we wudnt have got to 290+, yes I rate myself Highly and the rest of you all (as a vc i have to) :!( lol

New Zealand 'A' 356 & 358
Cricket Web 'A' 392 & 73/0

Cricket Web 'A' draw with New Zealand 'A'

Man of the match: Eyes_Only

Coach's Comments:
An impressive captaincy display by Marc71178 was not enough as the bat dominated the ball in this one. Rik bowled superbly in the first innings and David came back nicely after a poor start. R_Powell_fan was the pick of the bowlers in each innings though. Consistent line and length at decent pace. With the bat Eyes_Only was superb showing exceptional technical proficiency in batting with Bugssy who looked at total ease. Marc played a gem of an innings and Age Master was solid as always. The most impressive performance however, was from the lower order, who stood up and added crucial runs. The signs of improvement are there. Now we just have to get all the positives together at once and we could be a force!

South Africa 'A' 213 & 449
Cricket Web 'B' 313 & 328/8

Cricket Web 'B' draw with South Africa 'A'

Man of the match: M van Jaarsveld

Coach's Comments:
A fantastic game with some outstanding performances! For the bad guys, van Jaarsveld smacked 2 hundreds. Gibbs N. Smith played a couple of lovely innings which were almost identical. Yaju bowled superbly and Samuel Vimes took 47 balls to get off the mark in the second innings. Meanwhile, Craig smashed the ball around for 16 fours in his innings. Ultimately, we needed 22 runs to win with 2 wickets in hand when time ran out. A very well played game and a great run chase!

And then he got all excited and was caught off the 48th, for a brilliant 1.
