Just popping in to say that calling Klusener a 3rd bowler in an ATG team is a bit generous. Even for SA he was usually 4th or 5th
He was a third bowler for RSA which is what I meant. Wasn't really talking about ATG sides, but the principle is the same there too.

He wasn't though. He was quite often 5th bowler in a side with 5 fast bowlers (including Kallis).
He often bowled first or second drop as well. Sometimes he was even behind 5 other bowlers. Such is the lot of a South African all rounder. Much of the time he was the third best bowler in the side behind Donald and Pollock.

Ya. He was too inconsistent to be considered a properly top quality bowler at any stage in his career, but he was more than adequate for the first half as a third bowler before injuries started to rack up- averaged mid 20s for the 1st half of his career. After injuries he turned into a 5th bowler, but he debuted as a bowler with some all round potential, not the batting allrounder he eventually became.
