Ricky Ponting versus himself

Because I have deemed it necessary to take this idea to its conclusion. Let us presume that prime Ricky Ponting was facing the medium-pacer trundling of Ricky Ponting, with 10 other Ricky Pontings in the field (including a Ricky Ponting wicketkeeper), and Ricky Ponting set fields. How long would it take for Ricky Ponting to get Ricky Ponting out and how many runs do you suppose he would accumulate.

We will also have another Ricky Ponting at the non-strikers end

He will still be run out by the sub.

This is excellent, love it. Tbh, Ricky Ponting the bowler will get absolutely annihilated no matter what the field setting or tactics are. Ricky Ponting would score 200-300 runs on an average in the given setup and throw the wicket away after getting bored.

Also, there is also a chance of one of the Ricky Ponting on the field will claim catches that aren't legit or pressurise the umpire on giving the decision. So yea, once in a while Ricky Ponting might get out on a low score.

Only time when Ricky Ponting the bowler will have an upper-hand is if they play in England.

His bowling average is 55. So in favorable conditions and when Ponting loses a bit of focus or becomes overconfident, Ponting should be able to get him out at 55.

This is more interesting for Sachin. Sachin is known to lose his wicket to innocuous part time bowlers. So Sachin would have lost his wicket to Sachin more often than not.

Ponting's bowling average may be 55 but Ponting's batting average is only 52. It stands to excellent reason that were Ponting to bowl to Ponting then the result would be somewhere between those two figures and Ponting and Ponting would both average ~53/54.

Soon after the match starts, one Ponting will claim a bump catch as a genuine catch, the Ponting who is the captain will declare the batsman out. Batsman Ponting will refuse to walk off, and in the ensuing ruckus, one Ponting will get killed. End of the match.

This needs a voting thread as to how Ponting's gonna be dismissed. Either by Ponting, the fielder, claiming a false catch or an unknown 12th man running him out.
