Which as i asked you before. Do you think a player who started of like a train then crashed (Botham & Waqar), is better than a player who evolved from a worm to butterly/peaked late (Imran Khan, Steve Waugh)?
Obviously, the latter is better depending on how long the peak was and to what heights the butterfly reached. Both Imran and Waugh when they reached top form did so for a long time. I think test cricket is about longevity and you need a cricketer who produced his best for at least 10 years to be properly rated. The point here is not just the number of tests you play, but the time period.

A great example here is Hussey, right now he is rated a worldclass player but nowhere near the juggernaut he was 2-3 years ago.
