Yeah but don't some countries play in late srping or early autum? I've seen teams play just out of summer so they can play more games.
It's certainly totally impossible for England to play outside summer and VERY early autumn and VERY late spring.
It's preposterous to suggest playing in India, Pakistan or Sri Lanka in either the monsoon-season or at the height of summer in 50deg-C-plus temperatures.
It's stupid to suggest playing in South Africa in winter - and the same's true of New Zealand.
Australia have played in winter, but series are perceived as expensive and awkward to manage, however much charm and quality the venues have. I hope continuation of this will be unneccessary.
West Indies have tried playing in summer in addition to spring, but almost invariably it's resulted in farce as rain dominates.
So, no, really - the limits of seasons are already being tested and putting huge strain on the players (playing in India and Pakistan in April is stupid enough; playing in Sharjah in October frankly beggared belief).

The ACA does though - I dont think Sutherland is just going to blatantly lie about it, when he's over there in Bangladesh with the team.
Exactly.
Blatant lieing is simply never going to happen.
In any case - it's well-known that many players at the current time favour short tours and few tour-games.

No-one with any morals should ever touch those biscuits. 8-)
And why not exactly?

I have morals and although they're not my favourite chocolate of choice, I wouldn't turn one down.

Err, you clearly are ill-informed, then.
You are unaware of the evils perpetuated by the company that makes them (and thereby profits from their sale) - and your sig suggests you're unaware there even is a company that makes them.

I imagine that Richard is alluding to 'The list'. Every year or so, someone produces an updated list of a bunch of companies who are somewhat worse than Satan in someone's eyes, and then there is a great debate amongst self-styled idealists who make a great show of elevating themselves upon a pedestal as the moral and political guardians of society as a whole.

There's probably one list for every activist - and I bet they are all different.

Err, the Campaign Against Nestlé certainly isn't some whatever-takes-your-fancy, fleeting, look-and-look-away thing - it's a very concentrated effort that's been going-on for many years now involving many thousands of boycottees.
It is very well-known that Nestlé commit crimes against humanity in LEDCs by giving free samples of powdered-milk that causes countless deaths of infants due to the poor quality of water that the stuff's mixed with (water they otherwise wouldn't go near because they'd be breast-fed).

Christ!

I take him off <ignore> for 5 minutes and walk straight slap bang into a lecture.

Serves me right.

I don't disagree with you on this issue, but I'll tell you one thing - I farking hate it when anyone starts a sentence with 'err' - it's patronising in the extreme. That goes for you, C_C, TEC and a couple of others.

You think I don't know that a company makes Kit-Kats?

So please tell me how I think they come into being?

The signature is just sending you up for what you are, a self-opiniated windbag with about as much respect on here as Robert Mugabe.

They have a world-wide Player's Association. They should press for a mandatory 4 days between Test Matches, and one week's break following the conclusion of a Test series. The downside, I guess, is longer tours.
Stiff, Sydney siders. No more New Years' Test :D

Well, sometimes it's meant to be patronising.
If anyone didn't understand about the Campaign Against Nestlé, I'd say they deserve some patronisation.
