You wouldn't happen to have MSN would you Prince?
He does, prince.ews @ cricketmail.net. Sure he won't mind me saying.
Either way, I might as well post my comments on the matter at hand - when I first returned to CW almost a year ago (7th January '07), Perm struck me as probably the best new member of the great many who had joined in my long, long (8-month) absence, though there were a good few contenders. I was very much disappointed when he declared he was leaving a couple of months later. I was interested, though, when someone (who shall remain nameless) told me they thought his posts had been getting "darker, more cynical" of late. This, obviously, was something I couldn't comment on because my only experience of him was said "of late" time.
Anyway, he returned within a few weeks, and for the first month or so my thoughts remained moreoreless precisely as they had done beforehand. Then the trouble started, driven more than anything it seemed by that confounded trouble-maker SW\BLE.
After a few weeks of decidedly not-getting-on, we pretty well patched-up and for the next 4 months or so barely had a bad word to say about each other (most of the time with us both being on the Staff). Then things went downhill
again, this time worse than ever. Not only with myself, either - there were several instances of him receiving censure for conduct towards other members. Once or twice, I felt the vitriol was deserved (that bond21 clown, for instance), but mostly (I recall particularly one case with Laurrz, who has to be one of the most unmalicious posters on here) I felt he was out-of-line.
Matters between myself and him were, in my - perhaps misguided (I'm not a mindreader but I am I think pretty decent at deducing motives) - perception, exacerbated by the fact that I have a decidedly low opinion of two people who he seems to like greatly, they being Beevs and Voltman. At this time, I could say beyond reasonable doubt that he was trying a great many things in attempt to get me into trouble, the most outrageous as far as I was concerned being the fact that he tried reporting posts because I had done something he'd never once said he didn't want me to do (ie, mention his name on the forum).
Anyway, he received a 7-dayer, which I felt was deserved, and to his great credit he spoke to me during that time and said he felt he was out-of-line and apologised to me. Since his 7-dayer, I can't recall a cross word between the two of us.
Most interesting of all, though, was the fact that several people spoke to me about the subject and felt he was being such a pratt at that time because he was attempting to ape Dan Smith's posting style. This wasn't something that had occurred to me, at all, but it clearly had to several others (whether those people had conversed about it I wouldn't have a clue). Whether there's any truth in it, perhaps only one person knows.
Regarding his never-ending battle with Fiery, I've almost always, I regret to say, sided with the man from Clutha Valley. There's many a standpoint that Fiery takes that irritates me intensely (and, inevitably of course, that works in reverse too). Nonetheless, there's times when I've felt both parties have been out-of-line, as there have been times when several other parties have felt I've been out-of-line in my similar feuds with 1 or 2 other members.
One other thing - isn't the predictions-league on hiatus currently? Thus, is there really any need for the forum to even be visible currently, never mind Perm be a Mod? It'd undoubtedly be far better for everyone if Fiery could ignore Perm, would save a whole lot of unneccessary crap.
