Still disgraceful.

Surely an agreement to hosting a tournament is to allow all nations that would be competing in it.

I know Russia has been banned from many sporting events/athletes unable to compete under the flag.

But this done well in advance and not playing politics till a few days before hand. This issue shouldn't have even arisen.

If the ICC weren't reliant on the BCCI they'd do something about it, but they won't.

I am not saying you are wrong and the current Govt is well capable of such pettiness, but do we have data on how soon other teams applied and when they got and what the processing time was?

The article appears to have changed since earlier. It said July earlier

Any which way the article clearly states it does take longer for Pakistan or Pakistan origin players to get visas. I am also surprised the article passes off something like this as if its a fact personally vetted by the author:

In the case of Shariz and Zulfiqar, their visas eventually arrived days before they were scheduled to travel as part of the Dutch squad to India on September 19. The visas were only cleared only after external intervention.

Crapinfo indeed. They reported it earlier without some pretty important information for a story that is highly political. Very poor.

I don't think they have picked well. Only 4 seamers and none of them all rounders , which means they are gonna run some of their main quicks into the ground .
