Congrats to Aus. Clearly along with England, the strongest team overall. We did well to make the finals unbeaten but were obviously clearly extremely nervous and tense. Shefali dropping the WC and then not scoring was bad, hopefully she can shake it off soon as she is one of the most exciting players in the ladies game today. In other news, 9Gem cracked 531k viewers and Foxtel saw 405k viewers for the final, which is massive ratings in this day and age.

The next-best off-channel ratings recorded yesterday was a Bluey rerun on ABC Kids which saw 185k viewers. In fact, the women's world cup final was 6th overall despite being on an off channel. Behind only married at first sight and a bunch of news shows.

Although to be honest other things that would make more interesting television than that absolute steaming turd of a program include:

Live coverage of a cattle auction in Dubbo
Turkmenistani news
The world championships of synchronised swimming
A lecture on the history of superannuation
North Korean propaganda played in reverse
An ice cube melting slowed down by ×50
The test pattern for a couple hours straight
Home shopping
A blank screen with a fly buzzing around it

I had to time shift the second innings which is why I didn't post until after it was over.

But yeah it ceased being a contest very quickly in the Indian innings.

Yeah was a shocker really. The fact the crowd and occasion were so massive kept it interesting and entertaining as a local fan I suppose. Mind you, after the first ball of the Indian innings, it looked like it might be interesting. Was dealt with pretty impressively tstl.

Maybe Healy and Mooney are outliers but the power hitting abilities of the Aussie bats is several leagues ahead of what the Indians are capable of. Apart from Verma, most of the Indian batsmen spent the entire tournament trying to clear the field and barely getting it past the 30-yard circle.
