These girls hardly play any long form cricket though. I am ok with a safety first approach at this stage of development of this team.
Safety first is one thing but crawling along at like 1rpo for a big chunk of day 3 of a 4 day game is a bit weird.

They’re batting at night and there isn’t enough time for them to force a result anyway. Weird of HB to suggest india batted how they did today to take one result out of it. Once they got to 300 there was never enough time for them to lose.

real shame so much time was lost in this game.

You underrate how fast this side can collapse. Like I said, the women's side is the equivalent of our 70s cricket side. Talent is starting to emerge only now, and winning is not a habit. And the long format is extremely alien to them. I wont back them to last a session under lights on the last day under pressure. It does not mean they do not have the talent, but the temperament is not quite there yet. They will get there soon, maybe even the next tour.

We badly need domestic cricket back in India. Many are struggling with almost no domestic cricket over 2 years now. :(

Obviously not a big sample size, but Perry really does have god-like stats in test cricket - and that batting average may not drop much, if at all, with this innings.

It certainly won't drop at all if she doesn't get out, which seems basically impossible when she drops anchor.

Will be interesting to see if India try to make anything of this. They've started at a kinda decent clip.

Edit: No. No, they did not.

FFS. That was a really good start for India today.

Really like the talent that is emerging from India right now on the batting front. Smriti and Harman are established now and there is some serious talent in all of Shafali, Jemimah and Yastika. Raut and Deepti provide some reliability while Richa is a good slogger for T20s.

Yeah, impressive tonight from Jemimah in particular. Really capitalised on a good start at a time where another wicket or two could have spelled real strife. Looks a really good player.
