HK Women off to a bright start chasing 110 vs Nepal

If we win this it will be the highest ever successful chase by HK Women in a T20.

from the highs of that chase vs Nepal to 56/6 vs Kuwait

Can't keep relying on Mariko and Kary to score runs. Rest of this lineup needs to pick up the slack. All of them averages <10 in WT20Is, except Yasmin who averages around 14 at a SR of 55 lol.

Lol 3 run outs. Great stuff from the girls in the field. If only our bowling could match that - we've conceded more wides and no balls than any other team in the group, probably more than any of the other 9 teams in the entire competition!

Full on panic stations for Kuwait. Audio has been dead on the live stream for the last half an hour. Pretty shambolic from broadcasters but at least we're getting the video feed.

Kuwait went from 50/2 to 57/7 lol. The wicket of Maryam Omar a massive turning point. Most teams at this level are similar - overly reliant on a couple of decent batters to do bulk of the run scoring.

50/2 to 60 a/o is one hell of a collapse. Great to see Maryam Bibi in the wickets.

Unbeaten in the group stage, onto the semi finals :toot:

If we beat Malaysia we qualify for the Asia Cup in Bangladesh at the end of the year. Massive opportunity for our girls. We did lose to Malaysia in the warm-up before this tournament tho.

Bad news for South Africa on the eve of the test.

The article reads as though Khaka was already going to miss the test (and she didn't play in the warm-up), so that was a big setback to begin with, but losing Ismail as well is one of the last things that South Africa would have wanted.

Those are 3 top players for South Africa. I hope the replacements hold their own. Tough.

We didn't beat them :( got smashed actually, the girls had a shocking performance in the field in a reduced overs game. Needed 87 to win in 11 overs, got off to a bright start, but once Mariko and Kary were dismissed the chase fizzled and we fell 12 short.

UAE dominant as expected, tho tbf a bit lucky to make it through to the final. They only scored 80 odd in 20 overs vs Nepal in the semi, but the 2nd innings got washed out and they progressed by virtue of finishing first in their group. No such luck for HK tho <_<

Not the format I expected her to make her international debut in, but good to see her get the opportunity. Exciting young talent.
