Been on duty... Not too surprised how this is going down. Why's Morkel bowled so little? Rotation? Or is there a niggle?

Andile can go away from these tests vs Bangladesh & Zimbabwe happy. But still think he can get better & a little quicker. But long-term you ideally want him as the seamer all-rounder replacing Vern.

Frustrating part is. He will play domestic 50-over cricket when the India tests are on but will miss out on the majority of the final rounds of 4-day domestic when the India limited overs series starts.
The role he's given (all-rounder) in both tests and ODIs calls for much improvement in his batting. So far, I have seen absolutely nothing in his batting to be impressed by. His batting is at par with the likes of Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

I mean, I think we were were all expecting the 4-day nature of this test to be a non-factor, but that was just ridiculous. Shame, for a while in their 2nd dig, Zimbabwe seemed to be going quite nicely.

Yeah Zimbabwe are definitely more suited to low and slow decks where they can use spinners to control the game. Don't think the bowlers did that badly but the batsman were atrocious. As SeamUp mentioned earlier , I also expected more from Raza.

He does have to improve his records to be taken seriously at 7 but there is lots to work with in terms of his batting. Already won us a few LO games with the bat which is more than can be said of some of the other allrounders we have given the role too.

Like who?
He shouldn’t be anywhere near the test team.

What happened to Chris Morris?

He shouldn't. It was a totally unmerited selection because he has done nothing of note in FC cricket. But we know why he was picked and he hasn't let anyone down(yet).

Morris has an injury.

Disappointing, expected more from Zim but they just could not handle the SA attack with so much movement for the pace bowlers.

Phehlukwayo batting needs to improve, can see he has the talent and striking ability to be a good number 7. I worry about his bowling because he needs to put that extra yard of pace on and just does not seem to be trying, had this issue for awhile now. With Mulder around and playing well, Phehlukwayo needs to really up his game to get in on merit in the next year.

Anyone else feel this was an absolutely pointless tour? Not even any ODI's or hit and giggle stuff
It was never a tour.... was purely a one off to try replace what was meant to be the Indian 4/5 test tour starting in december, that got curtailed because india got a better offer.

AB says 4 day cricket encourages positive game play.

It also encourages scamming fans out of two days of play by forcing your incomparably weak opposition to follow on.
