Ah CSA lets host a test match in PE when a team from the sub continent come to South Africa - geniuses.

There is a chance that AB might miss the first test, he pulled out of those 20/20 games last week. Lets hope no out of position team selections for the Proteas.

South Africa should aim for a whitewash in both the tests and one dayers. Anything less would be a disappointment. Especially with how weak Sri Lanka are these days. Even playing first at Port Elizabeth shouldn't make much of a difference.

Is PE spin friendly?

It's much slower than other South African grounds. Australia struggled there last time. Theoretically that makes it better for subcontinental teams, similar to Durban but I don't think it'll make much of a difference this time.

SL did surprisingly well on their last visit, winning the 2nd Test, but they had Sanga making a century in that game IIRC.

SA should be fairly disappointed if they don't win all the Tests IMO (weather permitting). Herath will probably get a couple of 6-150 type hauls.

Against SL, SA should definitely play a Philander-Abbott-Morkel-Rabada attack with Duminy to give them a rest. That attack has all the bases covered, new ball, old ball, seam, conventional/reverse swing, and short pitched bowling.

Elgar can also chip in with a few overs.

Really keen to see how the new Rabada-Philander-Abbott attack goes.

If only stupid Steyn hadn't got himself injured, we'd have got to see an amazing pace quartet in action.

AB will likely miss the 1st test and Faf will presumably get a ban from the ICC, so you think Elgar will captain in PE with Rossouw to debut but he hasn't been playing in the 20/20s due to injury, so could be an interesting looking batting line-up.

I wonder if Amla will do it for a game

Great news about AB stepping doen from the captaincy, it should have been Faf's from the beginning.

Will be interesting to see who will play if Faf can't in the Boxing Day Test.

Rossouw is injured apparently injured so he's out. In her article above, Moonda has said Ramela and Markram are the two candidates. Ramela should not be in the same province as a Proteas Test cap and although Markram will have a long Test career I think it's still too early for him.

Think Theunis de Bruyn might be close to getting a call-up.

I would go for Markram but then I believe he is a special talent so I am bias when it comes to him.
