I think it's fine. If he did it yesterday it would've been stupid obviously, but the nightwatchman throwing the bat a bit the following morning is generally a decent strategy if they have the game for it IMO.

I have this theory that Bangladesh planned a road first up and then a grubby shootout for the 2nd Test which they believe maximizes their chances of a series win.

They know Shabbir has hacked his way to some decent runs on dodgy tracks in the past (v Eng and v Aus) which is why they've taken him here. It's dumb but possible.
