First Class Debutant
Also of interest. Quite a large number of First Div/Franchise debutants, which makes sense given the expansion from 6 to 8 teams (offset by a number of overseas players returning):

Most debutants, unsurprisingly, North-west; one of the two "expanded" teams and their bowlers struggled apart from Potgieter. Western Province struggled to plug the gap of Nandré Burger's season-long injury. Boland (Rocks) and KZN Coastal (Dolphins) are both in the market for a keeper who can bat, while Warriors have three! That said, the Warriors probably looked the flimsiest batting side, though maybe playing their best batsman Moore would help?

Why tf is deswardt batting at 8 for his domestic t20 team?
natal has too many allrounders some should go to other teams spread the load like de swart
also lions and titans hogging players would be better if there was a draft system. de swart and potgieter look decent.

There are still some good signings to be had in the 2nd Div. Leus Du Plooy is definitely being wasted playing for SWD...

Northerns going bos vs NW: https://www.livescore.com/en/cricke...s-vs-north-west-dragons/609618/?tab=scorecard . That said their own bowling line-up looks hella depleted without Ngidi, Williams, Harmer, Cele (injured??), Galiem(injured??), Shamsi (IPL??). Bosch can travel, and Phangiso looks to be on his way out. Then there's a Zim/SA U-19 bowler, someone called Bonga Chepkonga who ESPNCricinfo and Google aren't even sure about, and Gqamane, Brand and Ferreira as 5th bowler. Brand sure does want Markram's spot of aggressive top-order batsman and fill-in spin...

Anyone who wasn't working or watch RSA vs Bang know why the Lions bowled Reeza 8 overs, and two of their seamers 7 overs between them; then Titans didn't bowl two of their seamers who batted 10 and 11 but instead bowled Klaasen 6 overs? Was this some sort of weird dustbowl of a track, and if it was who was selecting the sides??

Anyone seen the contract lists for our provinces for next year? An article implies 7 players let go at Free State? Including Makwetu and Behardien? And Evan Jones signed from Northern Cape?

Obviously between Proteas, IPL & injuries, both sides have gaps, but it's a very green Lions side taking on the Titans for the title; the Lions being the only team to tame the Titans batters this season. Ronan Hermann (any relation to the other two) & Dadswell on first division-+-franchise debut; Richards, van Buuren in the batting & Yusuf and Bokako in the bowling all played a handful of games... But very exciting players!

Reeza had a good game by the looks of it. Though scoring close to 60% of their runs in the competition in the one innings, albeit the most important, isn't unusual for Reeza. Consistency has been an issue.

Titans would have been big favourites. 4 batsmen averaging over 50, 3 of whom with a S/R well above 100 and they had Shamsi.

With IPL and test sides out, both sides bench strengths were severely tested: Dadswell & Ro Hermann debuting for Lions - in the finals!

Chepkonga bowling 3 overs as a specialist bowler may have been the difference. If you look who their seamers were at the beginning of the season:
Ngidi, Galiem, Dala, Morris - first 4; Williams, Cele, C Bosch, Gqamane - they had none of their first string and half their second! Not sure where Cele and Galiem were at?

So team of the season?

Cele is injured and has been for most of the season.
Titans lost due to their batsmen not going big as they had been doing before the final and shamsi having a dreadful day.
Didn't helped that they dropped reeza on 8 either.

Presume with dadswell you mean in the 50 over comp?? Pretty sure I saw him play 20/20 for the lions in this season.

Titans the new chokers? 1 title , 2 finals losses after killing league stages, only themselves to blame as they bought depth for 2 teams they have like 25 players, lions also have crazy depth except batting, it was a final of lions bowlers and titans batsmen and lions bowlers did enough with Reeza playing his 1 don Bradman innings for the season lol.

Dadswell's first First Team 50-Over match yes; also made his 4-day debut earlier this season, which was more surprising...

Freestate looks the likely side to get relegated end of next season.
Too close to call between Northern cape and kzn inland for who will get promoted.
