Only franchise bothering with updates for internal games are the Lions : https://www.websports.co.za/livecricket.html?gid=321574&sportid=1

Hundreds for Dom Hendricks & Rassie vd Dussen for the first batting team & a hundred for Ryan Rickelton for the 2nd batting team.

1.
2.
3. Vd Dussen
4. Bavuma
5. vd Bergh
6. Mulder
7. D.Pretorius
8. Fortuin
9.
10.
11. B.Hendricks

I think the Lions team is basically set. 2 of D.Hendricks, R.Hendricks, Rickelton will open.

9/10 should be Magala/Sipamla but I notice they aren't playing in the internal game so Bokako/Siboto come in.

Delano Potgieter/Eldred Hawken may make the squad too.

What other international cricket is scheduled this summer ?

Home series against Sri Lanka ? A lot of the Proteas will be available for domestic selection and for more games than I can remember too.

Looks like they got the memo and put out a press release of the SA U19 Training Camp

Not a single Knights player in the 40

The couple of St Stithians boys. Richard Seletsane only 15
Even 16 year olds are rare which du Toit is one.

The return of the importance of cricket academies seems a big one for Graeme Smith. Especially when they return to Provincial cricket and there will only be one level of professional cricket. It is how Graeme Smith & his fellow age groups came through the system with academies.

Only Gauteng and Western Province have released theirs.

8 Grade 12s in the Gauteng squad (Pieterse, Copeland, McCarthy, Sibanda, Robertson, Khan, Potelwa, Sithole)
2 in the WP squad (D.Smith, Curran)

Powerade National Mens Academy squad also announced

Cricket South Africa (CSA) today named the 2020-2022 intake for the Powerade National Men’s Academy programme.

The Powerade National Academy (PNA) is a critical part of the CSA High-Performance pipeline and its primary objective is to successfully transition the high-performance development of players at senior provincial and franchise levels who have the potential to play professional and international cricket.

“The National Men’s Academy is run differently to the way it was run in the past,” commented CSA High-Performance Manager, Vincent Barnes. “It’s a three-year cycle run annually and not limited to three months at the CSA Centre of Excellence in Pretoria. Newly identified talent can be added to the selected list at any time during the cycle or be handed over to the South Africa “A” or Proteas teams, if promoted by the National Selection Panel.

“The selected squad forms the South Africa Emerging (SA Emerging) team which usually has an inbound or outbound tour. The team was due to tour Zimbabwe in July or August, but that outing has since been cancelled. An alternative will be announced at a later stage.

“As with so many of our other High-Performance programmes, COVID-19 has affected the PNA. The past few months have also seen a change in the coaching structure with Malibongwe Maketa taking over as coach of the Academy in the place of Shukri Conrad who now coaches the South Africa under-19s.

Powerade Men’s National Academy 2020-2022:

Joshua Richards (Imperial Lions), Matthew Breetzke (Warriors), Bryce Parsons (Gauteng), Sinethemba Qeshile (Warriors), Kabelo Sekhukune (Momentum Multiply Titans), Grant Roelofsen (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Wandile Makwetu (VKB Knights), Gregory Mahlokwana (Momentum Multiply Titans), Lifa Ntanzi (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Gerald Coetzee (VKB Knights), Thando Ntini (Momentum Multiply Titans), Marco Jansen (Warriors), Stefan Tait (Warriors), Dayyaan Galiem (Momentum Multiply Titans), Tshepo Ntuli (Warriors), Jason Smith (Cape Cobras), Jonathan Bird (Cape Cobras).
So we looking at Ryan Rickelton, Janneman Malan, Tony de Zorzi, Kyle Verreynne, Marques Ackerman, Wiaan Mulder, Raynard van Tonder, Lutho Sipamla all out of Academy and for senior SA squad selections. Obviously some have been for a while and played for the Proteas already.

As High Performance Batting/Bowling Leads Neil McKenzie and Vincent Barnes went around the country to work with each Province in their pre-season and they now with Shukri Conrad for the Inland CSA u19 Camp.

Positive steps.

Kolpaks who did extremely well for their Counties have undecided futures. Wiese was the first confirmation of not returning. Couple of other examples. Going back to provincial cricket will ease balancing acts that is for sure.

Agree with Zubayr. The more cricket the better so hopefully this truncated season is a 1 off. Don't think playing less games will mean more positive cricket. Having a lot of the Proteas available will be good for competition though.

Quite interesting how many players above in the SA U19 Camps are wrist-spinners.

1) Modern requirements for limited overs cricket to be able to beat both edges
2) These young lads would have grown up seeing that not only in world cricket but also in their own Immie Tahir

Feni, Tonga, Shezi, Benkenstein, Naicker & Welman. Also Keevy/Brevis bowl wrist-spin & regularly used by their schools & at junior provincial.

Whereas finger spinners are Tsaka, Copeland, Mkhize, Alder, Staffa with Kemp being a front-line batsmen who bowls offies.
