The Manuel Ramprakash Challenge Trophy Final
Cricket Web Black vs Cricket Web Blue
at the CW Oval

The game had everything. Clutch batting, clutch bowling and allround inspirational heroics. Some call it the game of the season, and it certainly held its own as far as engaging cricket matches go.

If Chris Butler's comeback hundred in the first innings was not enough of a cricketing spectacle, Sean Fuller's gutsy 279-ball 69 certainly supplied some satisfaction. Arguably the game-changing innings was that of Liam Camps though, as he received superb support from Nath Patrick and Travis Demeza on his way to an unlikely hundred.

The 77 runs that Patrick and Demeza helped add for the final two wicket proved invaluable in the end result, frustrating the Blacks and ultimately cementing the margin of victory.

Despite a promising start of 45, quick wickets late on day five devastated the purpose-driven Blacks. It was down to Butler once more, assisted only by the lower order. He added 62 with Warwick in the first innings, and put on 88 this time around.

The ground went silent if only to tune in to the drama unfolding on the field. When Warwick was finally caught by Cloete off Collins, 74 runs were needed with 3 wickets in hand. Both aspects of the equation whittled down, and Kwase Knight has the call for the highlights of the closing phases...

Score: 213/8.

The new ball taken immediately after lunch. It will be Patrick to bowl it. This period of play will likely decide this match. The Blues need a wicket...

80.1 Patrick to Butler: EDGED!! TAKEN!!!!!!! Cloete pouches it low to his left with both hands and immediately sets off running with arms outspread! The big wicket is in the bag, and the Blues definitely know it.
83.4 Demeza to Hoy: Short and on the body! He tries to get out of the way. Jellett dives down the legside and takes the catch! They're up for it! And the umpire says "YES!" Hoy says his glove was off the bat, but he has to walk.

Interesting replay that...
Cricket Web Blue 1st Innings 293 all out
Cricket Web Black 1st Innings 315 all out
Cricket Web Blue 2nd Innings 292 all out
Cricket Web Black 2nd Innings 217 all out
Cricket Web Blue won by 53 runs.
