No, it looks OK.

Vincent still has a problem with his backlift, as evidenced when he attempted to leave the ball against Streak. 2 boundaries off his bat.

Damnit I want to see Bond bowl!

Bit disappointing to see two wickets down already - Hamish Marshall looking in good touch with that four though. Bond would be a real handful this morning considering the swing from the Zimbabwean youngster currently bowling.

Blessing Mahwire 2/21?! You could be forgiven this Test was even at this point....
Embarrassing, isn't it? Still, credit where it's due, Mahwire has bowled very well.

Heh, a couple of years ago, when Zimbabwe were still poor but at least competitive, Mahwire was the symbol of the misguided quota system...good to hear that he's improved somewhat, at least.

What are our comments on the NZ bowling selection? They have four 'specialist' bowlers and Scott Styris- maybe we'll see a lot more of him with the ball.

He's a Blessing in disguise....

Sorry.

So, 100/3 at lunch. About the number of runs we'd have been aiming for, but three wickets is probably a bit more than we'd have liked.

Styris was in good bowling form in County Cricket...

I always thought he should have bowled more at international level.

Bit disappointing so far, starting from batting first and not geting to see Bond bowling now. Our openers looked very tentative, though the Zimbo bowlers were suprisingly good. Hamish Marshall was looking pretty good until he missed that one, and Fleming has hit some superb shots. Hopefully Astle and Fleming both stick around, it looks like there could be a lot of runs to be had.

Is there any reason why NZ are 172/5? I.e. pitch, weather etc., or has the batting simply been poor?

Pitch, poor batting, good bowling. Good partnership at the moment though between Fleming and McCullum, Fleming reaching 50 and McCullum very close to it. Wonder what game CricInfo's watching?

42.5 Mahwire to McCullum, FOUR, streaky boundary! pitched up, McCullum
swings into this and ball takes the edge to the back-ward point
fence.

That one came right out of the middle!
