*Official* New Zealand in Australia 2022

Score one for the incumbent test opener. All been very soft since Australia were 118 for 7.

This is woeful. Give away 80 runs to numbers 9, 10 and 11 and then poke and prod through the first 10 overs. Sleepy cricket

I guess given the way Starc/Hazlewood have bowled there's certainly a bit of "giving the first spell to the bowlers" approach needed, but Williamson just seems to go into his shell all too easily these days, across formats. Where are the scoring options, the strike rotation etc. Opposition captains obviously have put some thought on containing him, but he doesn't seem to have had many answers of late.

Though I guess NZ's chances now pretty much depend on how long he's able to bat.

Chokey, chokey, choke, choke.
Harlem Globetrotters vs Washington Generals.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

We won’t be playing the Aussies very often in the new FTP fortunately….(but will have plenty of the traditional Tom Latham benefit test matches vs Sri Lanka and the Bangas at Hagley).

The pitch is clearly very uneven in bounce and seaming a fair bit too, but the total lack of #intent to score anything is asking for trouble. Puts so much pressure on

Yeah, pitches can be tough, but not this tough. This is mindset.

Abbott's figures - just wow. Apart from the half tracker that got Conway he's been impossible to get away, not that NZ have tried exactly.

Remember the Dave Rennie whiteboard a few weeks ago? "Brutality"

This team has been choking for 18 months - Bangers, SA, England, tried to in Ireland and Netherlands - they need less 'time of our lives' and more 'win a game'

As has been recently discussed, they are paid 6 figures to win elaborate games of catch for their country.
