Reckon German's have more in the arsenal then England.Ozil has the capibility to make England run ragged don't see anyone in England unless Rooney shows up.

Ozil's a whelp tho. A talented one, but not the kind of player world cup winning teams are built around. Looked impressive v an ten man Oz and scored one decent goal v a desperately ordinary Ghana. Went completely missing v Serbia when things didn't go his way.

It could well be a he'll play a blinder and win the game for Germany, but bookies aren't charities. If this was any game but England v Germany the former would be red hot favourites.

Yeah, agreed here, two of the worst matches of the World Cup have featured Portugal, can't see them being even competitive with Spain. Let's face it, the Swiss did well, but on balance of play it should of been about 4-1.

Torres a major worry though obviously.

Oh and Page 3 is the Sun, the Star is more like the stupid-headed brother of the Scum, yes that is actually possible.
Ah good another one who didn't actually watch the Switzerland v Spain game then. Spain only created anything in the last 20 minutes. Spain were at best worth a draw and that's being generous. They were toothless and Torres came on and fluffed pretty much everything himself when they started creating openings.

Portugal probably have one of the strongest defences in the World Cup, arguably the strongest. Their record is incredible and they carried it into the group stages, unlike Spain. Portugal will match up nicely against Spain (see Switzerland), hopefully with a bit more support for Ronaldo they'll cause Spain all sorts of problems because the Spanish can't defend for toffee - particularly with their revolving door right back situation.

Schweinsteiger rumoured to be out, which wound leave a central midfield of Khedira (23), Özil (21), and A N Other (maybe Arne Friedrich)

The choice to leave out Torsten Frings now looks prophetic.

Harsh imo. Thought he was comfortably the best player on the field for the entire match against us (had carved up well before Cahill was sent off), and looked the only German player likely to create something against the Serbs (did gift Podolski 2 chances on a platter iirc)

I watched it, clearly saw a different match to you. Portugal scraped through in qualification, good defence against Malta and Albania though. We'll see with the result, Spain will win, then you'll no doubt call it jammy:)

Only England and USA that are left have followers on CW IIRC (apologies if I've overlooked anyone) so I guess this way makes sense. Euro 2008 just had one thread, stupid tournament that it was

Anyway, game on
