While there's a bit to be desired about this England batting lineup, there's some perspective needed in some of these comments - Roy and Burns have as many FC tons as the entire Ireland team.

Strange hours of play. The first two sessions are 2 hours 15 minutes and the last up to 2 hours 30 minutes depending on if they get the increased 98 overs in by 6:30. A lot of substandard players on show, and not only from Ireland.

Ya never saw 98 as minimum overs of play on day 1 of a test match. Is that allowed?

Well this is good. Top 3 looking unsurprisingly rubbish. Happy to give Roy and Burns a go, but we can't go into The Ashes with Denly at 3 surely?
