Some play quite decently even when not fully fit. I suppose my point was that a player like Bhuvi tends to be really good when he is in rhythm and completely crap when he lacks that. A bowling version of Jason Roy or Arun Finch

Embarrassing. I mean Shamarh Brooks opening in a T20? Whoever made that decision does not understand T20 cricket.

We really need a fresh approach to white ball cricket, this isn't working.

Completely agreed. Akheil coming in at 7 is not a good look.

Too many bits n pieces player in WI line up. Batting depth is alright but no need of a all rounder at no 9 in T20 ffs. I'll even take Roston Chase over Odean Smith with both hands.

Also would like to see Akeal Hossain in Windies Test squad. Left arm spinners are ruling Test cricket these days. Can hold the bat as well. Won't mind taking him to Australia later in the year for a test series @SillyCowCorner1

Dravid is back at his galaxybrain ****. Opening with possibly the best MO bat in T20s today. SMH. We had stumbled upon a good thing with Rishabh opening. And then we waste it like this.

People remember the Greg Chappell days with horror and we should, coz he was basically evil but we need to remember Dravid bought into and even came up with a lot of the galaxybrain moves back then too. He was just not making it personal and being an absolute asshole evil villain like GC. He picked that test line up for RCB back in 2008 lol.


EDIT - Unlike GC, I think Dravid's intentions were very much pure and he was just trying to make the side better but even then, his galaxybrain stuff hardly ever made sense or worked and we are seeing more of it now. More and more reason why I feel he was far better coaching the U19 and the A sides. Hopefully others around him can balance out some of this.

Opening with SKY was dumb. We’ve got like 10 openers to choose from already but only less than handful of MO options.

I see Odean ‘no neck’ Smith is back in the WI side. Real specimen.

I mean I'll take literally anyone else over Hahul the opener... You can bet that he'll choke in a crunch game. Doesn't helps that he is 1st choice opener.
Pant will anyway never open as much as we want him to & keep failing in middle order.
Iyer in T20 is there to keep Kohli's spot safe at least till Asia cup.
Indian T20 side will forever be a mystery no matter how many bilateral series we end up winning. But I am impressed with our pace & spin stocks so that's some positive.

Why do people want Pant to open? I’m genuinely curious as middle order hitters against spin are rare and Pant is one. He is also extremely aggressive in the middle overs too which is again a rarity. Now he hasn’t brought that internationally but the talent is there and he will come good someday. If not we have alternatives too instead of trying to shoehorn him as an opener.

Don’t get the hate against Rahul either. Sure he is obnoxious and pretentious to a fault but he can bat freely and aggressively if needed. It is a mental thing with him rather than a deficient technique which can be sorted easier than the latter. More concerned about him being unfit.

They did beat England in T20 series earlier this year & BD as well. So not awful at least in T20s.
