Shouldn't bother with the short stuff just yet. Sharma is struggling with the swing, pitch it up Tim.

There are going to be occasions where playing out the bowlers when they are bowling well is a good idea, espeically low scorers where you don't have to try and do anything fancy, but Rohit definitely has to reassess his approach in run chases, can't afford this super slow starts, and half the time he gets out after playing out too many deliveries.
Yeah, Rohit is no Dhoni who probably 9 out of 10 times makes up for slow starts.

Sharma is playing the role he needs to play, he's got to go hard and let Kohli just play naturally and get himself in.
Well I don't think he has been specifically asked to play that "role". And you can't make strategies around one man in every single game.

Dhoni has to bat at #4 for India. Have said it million times. It's no use getting him in in a crisis situation everytime.

And Rohit kinda sucks as an opener despite the runs he made in the Aus series. Starts super slow in every single match!
Rohit's last eight figures (including this game's) read an average of 22, strike rate of 59 and one fifty. Inexcusably poor strike rate. At least Dhawan's struggles began since the South Africa tour. Rohit's, on the other hand, have gone on a little too long. I brought up Rohit's average and conversion- Dhawan manages just as much, with a strike rate over 90. Now you can spot the weak link. Rohit took his chances, but like so many other Indians who took their chances and made it big, doesn't seem cut out for it.

In a related note, Rohit's figures at four and five make for some interesting reading. Relatively poor conversion rate, but at least his strike rate is better at 80. At five alone, great average (45), good conversion rate (1/3) and impressive strike rate (83-ish), but no hundreds, though he's stayed unbeaten often. He's much more comfortable there, building partnerships with top batsmen, and can also strike better.

If Rahane can play the role gambhir played in that Hobart run chase that'd be nice. Just need to tick it around at this point and get a partnership going.

This Dhawan-bashing is unnecessary. Yes, he's struggling a little, but the idea should be to make him better, not discard him. He's the least problem-ridden player in the side of all those struggling right now.

Kohli's weakness? Perfume.

Dhoni has to come in before Raina for sure, I think it's time we just sent Raina back to his finisher role instead of trying to give him more chances mid-innings, he hasn't taken his opportunity and now he needs to go back to what he use to do so well for us before.
