Please. The bagging him when he wasn't bowling well here was tongue in cheek. A joke at their own expense pretty much. I've no issue with the Aussie team choosing to react that way, I don't think it tells us anything new about them. They may be decent cricketers but brain cells and a sense of humour are somewhat lacking across the board. Not suggesting they abandon the team, but maybe give up on bagging a bloke who's tearing them a new one this series.
I don't really have an issue with any of their songs, except when they get into constant repetition of 'Barmy Army' which is as bad as 'Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi'. They add heaps to the atmosphere. But suggesting it's soft to have a go back after they've bagged you for 4 years is a bit silly.
So the MJ song got a run today??Please. The bagging him when he wasn't bowling well here was tongue in cheek. A joke at their own expense pretty much. Was it? What exactly did they sing then? If the Aussies completely misinterpreted it then I would agree with you,Please. The bagging him when he wasn't bowling well here was tongue in cheek. Haha, yeah that was the one. Couldn't work out who it was directed at at first. Is this what you are talking about??

I missed that wicket......what happened??
I was doing the same at home to be fair, trying to get the clowns to shut the **** up so he'd stop taking wickets.England team did the same thing to the Gabba crowd after Broady got his 5fer and had been copping **** all day.
Look, I've no beef with the Aussies waving to the crowd like that, I just think they are a bit thin-skinned about the songs etc. especially for a team so fond of sledging. Was it? What exactly did they sing then? If the Aussies completely misinterpreted it then I would agree with you,
The reaction of certain English fans on here suggests a sense of humour might be, at the very least, somewhat conditional however.
The barmy army were largely silent for most of the day today. Hardly any chants at all. The first I heard them (from about 5 bays over) was about 3pm. I really didn't get why the Australians were trying to wind them up. Silly.I don't really have an issue with any of their songs, except when they get into constant repetition of 'Barmy Army' which is as bad as 'Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi'. Just Broad wasn't it? Conducting the chants and all that.England team did the same thing to the Gabba crowd after Broady got his 5fer and had been copping **** all day.
As was mentioned above, that got a reaction from England. We've also had them complain about sledging and short-pitched deliveries...and that's a team with Anderson in it.Look, I've no beef with the Aussies waving to the crowd like that, I just think they are a bit thin-skinned about the songs etc. especially for a team so fond of sledging.
Maybe it's a cultural difference. Footballers over here endure far more extreme taunts than anything the barmies have ever dished out. But when your own supporters are at the ground wearing 'Stuart Broad is a **** bloke' tshirts then perhaps it's worth taking for what it is.
Certainly from what I've seen. The last 2 days at Adelaide he was responding well with us on the hill.Tbf to Mitch, he's had good banter with the BA for most of the series.
But when your own supporters are at the ground wearing 'Stuart Broad is a **** bloke' tshirts then perhaps it's worth taking for what it is.
Yeah look this isn't a patriotic thing. I don't think the way our guys behave is always admirable, but I get an impression of the Aussie cricket team being way too sensitive about certain things. I mean if it's true that the sprinkler dance caused offence then I don't know what to say.As was mentioned above, that got a reaction from England. And Cantona kicked a bloke in the head didn't he? (I personally enjoyed it, was good to see a pasty, slightly overweight couch hero get a whacking).
You might be right too. To be honest though, it would get pretty annoying at times having to hear idiots on the boundary yell stuff at you all the time because they think their ticket buys them the right to carry on like a pork chop for 8 hours. I don't really put the BA in this category, as they seem to put a bit of thought into what they do generally, and it's normally in good humour. I do wonder if there was anything more to it than just singing the MJ song again. If that's all it was then I agree the timing of the reaction is rather strange.Yeah look this isn't a patriotic thing. Broad did react to the treatment he got, but he had a smile on his face the whole time. I don't get that sense from a Warner or Clarke when they take this **** on. Maybe I'm wrong. I just feel like they take everything too seriously
And yes Cantona kicked someone in the head in 1995...
I agree on KP. It seemed like 30 minutes after the 1st dropped catch commentators were talking up his application to the task etc etc, having seemingly forgotten the bloke should've been caught hooking...again.KP getting a lot of credit from the media etc. for a guy who was dropped twice.
Absolutely dismal stuff. Get in, block, block, block, pat bad balls for a single, block, block etc. get out. They score at a pathetic run rate (particularly compared to Australia) and still manage many so many ****house dismissals. Bell is particularly irritating the way he plays so much within himself when he has all the shots that he should never really be tied down. But he just allows himself to be tied down and takes all the pressure off the bowlers.
