What about player registration rules? A player can walk away from a contract on June 30th, but if new clubs can't register new players until another date (ie they move the summer window to match the new pre-season) then players haven't really got anywhere to go to on July 1st (sure they could sign a contract with another club, but wouldn't be playable, so why would a new club start the contract on that date).

Could see that leading to a number of players agreeing 1 or 3 month extensions to finish a season, and clubs offering them purely because they can't replace the player (though there will be plenty of surplus players who rarely play anyway who won't get an extension)
Yeah, for the reasons you mention there is a clear incentive for players to voluntary sign short-term extensions, but the idea of mandatorily enforcing an extension is pie in the sky. If a player wants to jack it in and have a holiday for a few months it's unlikely there is anything that could be done to stop that.

OTD 6 years ago was the game where Chelsea beat Arsenal 6-0, with Mourinho deploying a high press and Salah getting the 6th. I can’t make sense of the game at all in the context of Mourinho’s career. It’s like he threw it in there to prove he was choosing to play **** football the rest of the time.

watching Euro 88 highlights (because Dutch public television needs to fill the hours).

Totally different game, also the players look like actual human beings rather than billboards

Anyone want to do some sort of mutual watch-alongs for videos of old/good/memorable matches/tournaments/competitions etc.?

Since there is no actual sport on at the moment, and precious little else to do in the evenings etc. If we can find stuff online that is accessible to everyone (e.g. through YouTube or similar) I thought this might be quite fun, and would give us something to talk about.

Hit me up Friday night 10pm and we'll watch the 2018 conference play-off final

I'd be up for that at some stage, very busy at the moment though.

Cool, let's try and work something out.

Re: Busyness, it's weird for me, as I am generally much busier at the moment than I have been in ages. But due to no commuting/going outside, I actually find myself both simultaneously working more and having more free time.
