I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Biggest challenge facing us is deciding which pub to get ****ing smashed as ****ing drunk.

International Debutant
Haha, the basis of his first class record where he averages 42, and is the highest run scorer in the Plunket Cup this season. ODI form has nothing to do with it. And everyone selected has an NZC contract AFAIK.
its not so much his ODI form - its the fact that he looks completely out of his depth at the international level. He has played nearly 20 games and passed 30 once. Simply not good enough

Good looking first up team. Be good to get a win first up in our long anticipated comeback

International Regular
Oh and congrats on a well-deserved debut by Garven!! One of the best bats going around CW at the moment :D

Look out of depth in ODIs ≠ will be a poor Test player.

First test will be done tomorrow morning, wont be any attempt at a live sim at this stage while I'm still getting the hang of everything. Chances are I'll post progressive scores day by day throughout the morning Aussie time.

1st Test: New Zealand vs Cricketweb XI
at Dunedin

Day 1
For the second time on tour Cricketweb XI captain Neil Pickup won the toss and elected to bat. For the visitors vice captain Daniel Smith and CW Green veteran Andrew Garven were given debuts, Greg Thomas also won a spot in the team following his six wicket haul in the first tour match.

The decision to bat first wasn't looking like the correct one as CWXI slumped to all out for 180 in just 55 overs. Chris Butler was the only positive as he compiled a well made 90 from 113 balls. Dan Smith second top scored with 24 and looked right at home in test cricket, Andrew Garven (19) and Neil Pickup (10*) were the only others to make double figures. The Kiwis own debutaunt Brent Arnel took 5/59 while Daryl Tuffey also grabbed himself a five wicket haul.

BJ Watling and Martin Guptill starting positively against the opening pair of Borcich and Thomas, they moved the score along to 31 before Guptill was out for 23 slashing at a wide one from Thomas, Watling himself fell just a few overs later this time Borcich getting among the wickets, he had his second not long after as NZ fell to 3/75 with the depature of Ross Taylor. Matthew Sinclair and Neil Broom put on 58 before Neil Pickup grabbed another of the Kiwis debutaunts, Broom was gone for 23 with the score at 119.

CW owe a lot to Butler there. Can hopefully pull it back without conceding too large a first innings deficit.

Day 2
With New Zealand resuming at 130/4 Cricketweb XI were in need of quick wickets and thats what they got, Matthew Sinclair added just one run to his overnight score before he was bowled by Greg Thomas. When Borcich took this third wicket of the innings; that of Brendon McCullum the match was delicately poised with NZ at 6/155, However a 112 run partnership between Daniel Flynn and Daniel Vettori swung the match the way of the home side, Vettori was the one to fall for a brisk 77 off just 85 balls when he was caught behind off the bowling of Pickup. Tim Southee came in and bashed a quickfire 24 from 15 balls and he fell just before the rain came. Borcich came back after the break with the new ball in hand and cleaned up the tail to finish with impressive figures of 5/41 from 13.4 overs.

Trailing by 129 runs on the first innings Cricketweb XI needed the top order to show some fight to get them back into the match, a second rain delay of the day came after just 3 overs but players were back on the field half an hour later. Mork and Smith put on 43 for the first wicket before Mork was knocked over by a peach from Daryl Tuffey. Andrew Cloete and Dan Smith negated several more rain delays and some hostile fast bowling from the hosts to make it through to the end of play unscathed with Smith 2 runs away from a maiden test half century and Cloete on 37.
