*Official* Bangladesh vs West Indies

Reasonable effort from the Tigers, unfortunately for them Vasbert Drakes turned in the best display of his life, ever, and then it rained.

Keeping the WI down so effectively (well, until Ricardo Powell hit 88 off 50 balls and the WI scored 130 off the last 13 overs) is something to be proud of.

It was a great game until the last ten overs when the wheels fell apart. Powell made his presence felt again but it was a good effort from the hosts. the fielding was exceptional ... sliding and diving isnt part of our society! anywayz, the two ODI's in dhaka wont be as good...but whats the harm in hoping.:):duh::baddevil:

Congrats to Ricardo Powell and Vasbert Drakes. Two fine performances. Finally Drakes is bowling like he has in England for years.

Remembering Drakes was a dismal faliure last time for Warwickshire...

Drakes is a very ordinary bowler IMO, although his domestic stats are very impressive. Great effort by Bangladesh - WI were 142-4 when Powell came in in the 36th over (that's a run rate of 4). In fact 4 bowlers turned in very respectable figures, only Ashraful (thought he was a batsman) and Kapali got the treatment.

Yes Powell has blown them away....again...

Hope he gets a chance to play in the tests, because in the past he has been derived of it, go Powell...

Ashraful's da MAN

Ashraful played some of the most scintilating shots ever in dhaka . cover drives, on drives and the cuts and flicks were exclusively classy...dont mind my excitement...we are starved of a superstar!
monjurul bowled well but the fifth bowler quota cant be filled by anyone...
great sarwan batted beautifully and deserved the ton...
tomorows the last ODI...a few changes maybe...

Ofcourse not. Its early days yet nobody expects them to preform too well. But they have to learn thats important. I notice ur a staff member, what are you doing ?:)

Yeah, they came into international cricket at a time when it is highly professional, aggressive and competitive and the established teams are not going to easily let go off the chance for easy wins against weaker sides like Bangladesh.

Just why was Marlon Samuels given not out when he was clearly run out? How the hell was it a dead ball? To think that the West Indies at that stage had scored only 80 odd runs from 27 overs with 2 wickets down!

Who'd have guessed it? He's gone and even beaten that performance

Strange that Gayle gets wickets against the good teams and none against the week ones...:P

Great knock by Sarwan. What a year he's having! Good job to finally get that annoying monkey off his back. Here's to many more centuries!

103-1 off 25.4 overs - some very good bowling from Rafique (6-0-13-0) and Rahman (5.4-0-13-0), but without the wickets, WI can still make 280+ ( I guess Powell may move up the order...)
