The name or the player?

Deshis always have a formal name (Nurul Hasan), and a nickname that people actually address them by (Sohan).

Back in the day the cricketers were always known by both their formal name as well as their nickname (Aminul Islam Bulbul, Khaled Masud Pilot etc). Latterly the nickname only enters the equation when there's other blokes with the same formal name in the system. Presumably there's been other Nurul Hasans in Deshi domestic cricket. Also Mehidy and Mahedi Hasan are both in the system at the same time so Mehidy now gets called Miraz.

Or was this about cricket? Lel
Ah gotcha, was generally curious about the difference in name.

Not Terrible
Looks like NZ well and truly switched on today though the batting probably wasn’t as ruthless as it could have been. Feel for BD missing so many first choice players.

How was Blundell’s innings? Did it look like he’s recovered a bit of form/ confidence now or was it a case of BD simply bowling to his strengths?
Blundell looked incredibly comfortable.

Blundell needs to realize he is a stroke player who scores quick. Those pulls are a thing of beauty. No need to be another nitty gritty dot it up and bat at a SR of 35 guy, we have like 157 of those already.

Kyle Mills, aka God, said the same in commentary today. No need to be BJ Watling's successor - be Tom Blundell, and play the way he did at the G two years ago

Easy for Blundell to be Blundell as long as quick bowlers bowl short to him…otherwise, is he genuinely a fast-scoring batsman? Always struck me as a fairly orthodox player who sits deep in the crease and waits for length

So do we bat again and give Rossco another hit in his last test?

Or do we be ultra-professional and just get the job done as quickly as possible?

If the forecast for days 4 and 5 isn’t great, it’s a no-brainer. While it would be cool to see Rossco get one last hit, there’s really nothing to be gained. The top three batsmen have filled their boots and Blundell made use of his opportunity to get some form back.

Think the bowlers could use a good workout as well, they won’t get a lot of bowling otherwise before the South Africa series. Would like to see them (well, the three apart from Wagner) figure out some bowling plans which don’t involve resorting to the short ball when things aren’t going their way.

Practically, bowling a hoop down a hill would be pretty difficult I think, much easier to roll it underarm, or is that the joke here.
