Feel sick to my stomach, We both played in Worcester in 2012, went out quite a few times together, a great man who was always popular with everyone.
3.44pm: Peter Lalor, who is at the Sydney Cricket Ground, reports that Hughes has played with both sides and is one of the most liked cricketers in the game.

Damn, hope and pray he pulls through fine.

Seen the Video and it looks bad and the pics doing rounds even more distressing.

SACA high performance boss Tim Nielsen; "The outcome of that surgery is unlikely to be known for 24-48 hours, we ask you to respect the privacy of his family and friends."

5:08pm: Fairfax Media has been told that Hughes is out of surgery where doctors worked to relieve the pressure on his brain.

He remains in an induced coma with the success of the surgery not to be known for some time.

**** he's in an induced coma? Is it that serious?
Speculating here but it'd prob be til the swelling goes down and they can see what's happened. They'd have operated to relieve the pressure and then they'll wait for swelling to go down before they scan to see damage. Induced coma is fairly normal for brain injury
