Noble One

International Vice-Captain
Geeves is hardly the surprising choice considering the injuries going around. He has had his best domestic season thus far in his career. Couple of good 5 wicket hauls and also the 3rd highest wicket taker this season. In form too, I heard a few people really rate his effort against the Vics. He bowls at a decent click, can get some movement happening with the ball and well his accuracy is passable.

It could have been anyone out of Geeves, Magoffin or McKay. Unfortunate time for Bracken and Noffke to be injured along with Harris. Unlikely for the back up seamer to play admittedly.

Being a Vic I would prefer McKay.

Even if this was the logic, though, why would Lambert play given he was batting #9? Not doubting you FTR; just think it's really weird.
Yeah, have never understood their fascination with Lambert. One of life's mysteries.

School Boy/Girl Captain
Then the Cricinfo guys are on drugs. They explicitly said it showed the Haddin ball just missing. Pretty poor, people trust them to get this stuff right.
Agreed.

ABC radio said it was hitting the stumps, cricinfo said it was missing.

Wish this was on free to air!

Cannot understand why Ponting was too afraid to send them back. He need to grow a pair, or we should bring back Warnie as Captain for the ashes. (Best captian to never captain Aus in a test)

Should declare now IMO. Gives us a day and a half to get our wickets (that's plenty, so a few annoying partnerships shouldn't stop us) and also gives SA the motivation not to stonewall it. Should make for some entertaining cricket either way. Oh, unless it rains of course.

Well who did you expect them to pick? I don't really rate Geeves either but I can't really think of anyone else I'd be particularly comfortable with other than Bracken and Noffke who have been blacklisted.
Geeves you say? That is awesome!

Glad he's made it, pretty sure the selectors liked his recent 99's and want to strengthen the batting lineup, haha.

So funny to read you Prince defending him after I was calling for his selection recently and you rubbishing him.

Well when Lee, Clark, Bollinger, Noffke and Bracken are all injured, it doesn't leave one with a lot of choices for your 4th specialist quick. As I said, I don't really rate him, but he is better than the alternatives.

Dirk Nannes unlucky to not get a mention. Guess he's been injured lately too.

International Debutant
Yes Nannes is injured. Albertus Morkel took five-fer. He should replace Morne, while McDonald should make way for McGain.
