What could be the best team that you can come up for 230 run average.

I'm pretty sure Jaysuriya and Gilly could be the openers.
McGrath, Donald are certains as well

So I'd like to give a start

01.Jayasuriya 32
02.Gilly (wk) 35
03.
04.
05.
06.
07.
08.
09.
10.Donald 4
11.McGrath 4

Agree with your 4.
I'd suggest Murali and Garner would comfortably fit in the budget and also thought Kapil was the best way to spend 24 runs, at 7 since gilly has the gloves.

I haven't gone to the effort of calculating how much is left for the last 4 batsmen though.

isnt 24 still above the average, and a bit too much at 7.

Mind you we are working with an avg of 20.9 here.

Garner,Murali are OK choices.

You'd ideally need two more great bats.

After updating Garner and Murali

230-92=138 remaining
27.6 average

01.Jayasuriya 32
02.Gilly (wk) 36
03.
04.
05.
06.
07.
08.Garner 9
09.Muralitharan 7
10.Donald 4
11.McGrath 4

De Silva should get one of 3 or 4. Kapil at 7 also seems good. Jayawardene another fair shout for the top order.

I am unable to see who picked who so, Aravinda de Silva - 35

If he is picked then Sir Richie Richardson - 33

CricZo XI

1. Adam Gilchrist / + - (36)
2. Virender Sehwag / o - (35)
3. Ricky Ponting / - (42)
4. Kim Hughes / - (24)
5. Aravinda de Silva / - ( 35 ) OR Richie Richardson / - ( 33 )
6. Upul Chandana / o - (17)
7. Malcolm Marshall o / - (15)
8. Curtly Ambrose o - (11)
9. Saeed Ajmal o - (7)
10. Junaid Khan o - (5)
11. Carl Rackemann o - (3)

So I have 2 ATG fast bowlers, one extremely useful ODI bowler, one lefty quick who had done well on the roads we play ODIs on these days, best LOI spinner of this era and a very useful all-rounder leggie. Pretty happy with this bowling unit.

I have a pretty strong top order in Gilchrist, Sehwag, Ponting, de Silva/Richardson. Hughes, Chandana, Marshall could bat so I am not 'that' worried about the lower order. Yes, I am light on bat but so are other teams.

I was thinking about sending Chandana to do the same

I want to run a date-specific odi draft after this if people are ok with that. There will be no voting for my draft; winner will be decided based on my date-specific ratings (which is not public info - you know the current ratings and career ratings). I'll describe in more detail later.

Why would you bat Courtney Walsh at and Donald 8 and 9? I get that all 4 of those bowlers aren't exactly good batsman but fmd atleast make it look better by putting Mendis higher.

Haha good point (made the change now) but I think Mendis was the bunniest bunny of them all. Maybe people just don't remember his batting.
