Mystery Draft (ODI XI and Test XI, 79-09)

Smith averaged 50 odd too.
Very recently. And not for a long time. On the other hand, apart from crackers in the bowling dept like Wasim, Waqar, Shoiab, Imran, Qadir, Mushtaq, Qasim etc, there were gems in the batting department like Miandad, Inzy, Anwar (Ok <50), Imran himself (averaged 50+ as captain), Mohd Yusuf, Younis Khan etc.

South Africa had brilliant pace bowlers. Hardly any spinners, and perhaps three superb batsmen.

Imran and Miandad weren't in the running as they debuted before hand.

If, and perhaps someone else can confirm this, Nufan and Tharmi have no remaining overlaps, could he (Tharmi) make his picks now?
Nufan and Chaminda both need an Indian in their ODI XIs so theres a potential overlap there. No overlaps in the test draft though between Nufan and Chaminda, and Nufan and Matt.

Of course. But that's a tad unfair as both of them had careers running even into the 90s, in Miandad's case into mid 90s.

But point taken.

Still Pakistan better team vis a vis SA for me. :)

Test XIs still need players from:
2 Australia
2 England
4 India
1 New Zealand
3 Pakistan
3 South Africa
2 Sri Lanka
1 West Indies
2 Zimbabwe/Bangladesh

Funnily enough the New Zealand and West Indies picks will both be mine! Essentially I can complete my team now.

Chaminda has the one Australian to select, Bagapath has the one West Indian to select.

I'm not staying up to all hours of the night to make picks tonight. If Rob doesn't come online soon, your going to have to wait till tomorrow to make picks.

*snap* my wife tore me a new one this morning when I snuck into bed, and I was an absolute zombie at work today.

Damn you Mystery Draft!! :p

Sorry for the delay.

Test - Thilan Samaraweera. Good batsmen for number 7 and useful spin bowler who is under used in my opinion.

ODI - Graeme Smith - I have him for Tests already, he's also a brilliant ODI player. Average over 40, SR over 80 and great captaincy is always a winner.

No wife, but same as for the bolded bit. Lucky we are pretty slow at work now.
i am lucky on two counts. have a wife who doesnt mind it. and i am self employed - in movies. i am writing a script and selecting this team at the same time. it is not affecting my work at all.

looks like Nufan is back!!!!!
