I think Grace and Hobbs are set in stone (see what I've done there?) for England, but in terms of cultural impact I think one DR Jardine should be up there too.

With maybe IT Botham as the fourth, he did take cricket to the front pages for a time.

Not Terrible
Abdur Razzak was the first bloke that was genuinely pretty good at cricket. Bashar at best just wasn't awful. But even thats only in ODIs.

Rating by how good they actually were in their trade and not by their date of birth.

SL should have Sathasivam
Love the de Saram/Sathasivam arcs. One was a fancy lawyer who led a military coup while the other was an alcoholic who was falsely accused of murdering his wife.

The SLC Circus has been going on for as long as cricket had been played there it seems.

Looked intuitively wrong at first glance, but upon reflection it's probably about right. Even if the odd old-timer might want a Dempster, Sutcliffe or Reid in there.

Fleming's a bit stiff but would probably be the 5th head.
Great captain, but hard to include a guy who didn't average 40 at Test level until his final knock, and scored 9 tons v about 40 half tons.

I'd have Ross ahead of him, but would also think Dempster, Sutcliffe deserve a look-in or Martin Donnelly.

For some reason I was hoping to see Mohammad Rafique in here…
yeah you are right Rafique needs to be there. I clearly remember he’s the first most popular cricketer here. People used to look up to him. Decent test record too. But I blame him for so many SLAs coming out from our country lol

Glenn Turner deserves a place, along with Hadlee, Crowe and Williamson

What I want to know is who was the WG Grace of Bangladesh cricket.

Houghton, A Flower, Taibu, BRM Taylor?
If this thread had been made a year ago one would've thought Heath Streak would've been a shoo in.

Now, not so much.

Maybe, as we're considering cultural impact, Duncan Fletcher and Pommie Mbangwa would be in the mix, for their coaching and broadcasting respectively?
