Broad for me, simply because on his day he can get a batting side all out for a score of below 100.

Was actually surprised to note how many times Sharma got Ponting but in 12 tests palyed against an Indian team containing Sharma, Ponting averaged 60+, so I'd say he went alright.

Sharma did have the wood on Ponting around 2008 though.
The spell which Sharma bowled at Perth was an extended version of Flintoff's over to Ponting at Edgbaston.

Yes. And to think that he can do something like that in the first innings of the first test of a five match series.

Mental disintegration, non-Aussie style; based only on pure cricketing skills.

woah woah hold on a second. tec picked the south african dude over the english dude?

lol at people picking morne by the way cause he bowled the right length in his last few series. only 11 years too late.
Yeah, how dare I pick the guy who has a better average, strike rate, wickets per match, better away average and record instead of the guy who hasn't done anything for two years and is already past it despite being younger. Must be my bias ;).

When Broad is on one of them streaks of his he is the best bowler in cricket. Shame they have been few and far between recently.

Sharma spell marked the beginning of end of Ponting's career.
Giving Sharma credit for anything to do with Ponting is absurd.

Ponting is an ATG. Sharma is most probably the worst pace bowler to have ever played more than 50 tests.

Back on topic..... So many batsman hated playing Morne, more than I've heard similar words about playing against Broad. Based on that I'd give it to Morne

Easy easy mate. Never suggested anything otherwise. But it was certainly an oddity that the potentially worst bowler with over fifty yet had the all time great as his biggest bunny (7 dismissals in 12 tests- all in 2008-2012 period).indian pitches never really Suited Ishant.

Interested to know what Ponting was on when he was dismissed by Ishant though

Morne Morkel: Legend, or Just Great Fun?

At 196cm tall, he is actually one centimetre shorter than fellow cloud-botherer Stuart Broad. Yet incredibly, Morkel still releases the ball an average of 20cm higher than his English contemporary, with his tall, proud action emphasising and exaggerating his physical attributes in a manner that is globally unmatched.

The Morne-wanking is kind of funny considering how people talked about him just 18 months ago. Very good bowler but the current discussion is disproportionately warped by how well he ended his career.

I mean, 'more bowlers talked about how hard it is to play Morkel compared to Broad' isn't much of a reason for favouring one over the other.

The current discussion is also disproportionately warped because he just ended his career.
I can imagine what the results of this poll would have been if it was Broad that had just retired.
