Modern ODI draft

JOJOXI

International Vice-Captain
Pretty content with my final squad - a couple of players I may have picked in hindsight but have 2 capable and positive openers and a middle-order I'm very happy with. Grant Elliott gives us an emergency 6th bowling option but more often than not it would just be our 5 frontline bowlers bowling. Narine perhaps lacks the bite he did in the past but still rate him as a very good spinner whilst his batting has improved too in the meantime and Jadeja with an economy under 5 is brilliant in this era combined with his average of over 31 and fielding. Morris at 8 gives us strong batting depth and a solid bowling option if unspectacular bowling option. Hazlewood will bowl a lot with the new ball, with Bumrah largely saved for the second half of the innings and in particular the death overs.

Alex Hales
Tamim Iqbal
Babar Azam
Eoin Morgan
Nicholas Pooran (wk)
Grant Elliott (6)
Ravindra Jadeja (4)
Chris Morris (2)
Sunil Narine (3)
Josh Hazlewood (1)
Jasprit Bumrah (5)

After a few rounds I set my sights on picking a team with no duplication of countries of origin. I left India till last and have almost paid a penalty as I watched my list eroded away. My final choice is Hardik Pandya. He has a good strike rate with the bat and extends the bowling options.

1. Aaron Finch (Aus) capt. /
2. Imam ul Haq (Pak) /
3. Kane Williamson (NZ) /
4. Shai Hope (WI) w/k /
5. Shakib Al Hasan (Bang) /o
6. Hardik Pandya (Ind) /o
7. Mohammad Nabi (Afg) o/
8. Chris Woakes (Eng) o/
9. Thisara Perera (SL) o/
10. Graeme Cremer (Zim) o
11. Dale Steyn (SA) o

The bowling is led by Steyn with seam support from Woakes, Perera and Pandaya while there are plenty of spin options with Shakib, Nabi and Cremer providing left arm orthodox, off spin and leg breaks. The batting is solid with a century maker at number 9 and plenty of players down the list who can accelerate the scoring when necessary.

Superb side - Roy, Taylor, and De Villiers are absolute guns, Rassie is averaging 70, and the team bats deep with big hitters at 7, 8, 9. There is a beautifully balanced 4-man pace attack, 2 good spinners, and AB's medium pacers are available if a 7th bowler is needed.

Will wait until probably this time tomorrow for anyone to add any info that they want, I'll probably add the extended stats myself as I think they are instructive, depending on the time I have, I may add them for all sides but that is very much a might. Also @honestbharani just tagging you as you haven't posted full squad yet

Real pace in that bowling lineup there!

Whatever it takes!!!
Shikhar Dhawan
Martin Guptill
Virat Kohli (c)
JP Duminy
Tom Latham (wk)
Marcus Stoinis
Roelf van der Merwe
Shadab Khan
Jofra Archer
Lungi Ngidi
Shaheen Afridi

Rather like me squad here. Archer and Afridi with the new ball and all 3 of the fast bowlers (and they are all FAST bowlers) can bowl at the death. Stoinis to provide cover from the seam up bowling side. Shadab, RVD and JDP to provide the spin. 7 bowling options, batting till 9. Ideal ODI team really. :)
