"The charges against Tsotsobe follows a lengthy investigation which started around October 2015 by CSA's Anti-Corruption Unit, and the previous findings and bans imposed on Gulam Bodi, Jean Symes, Pumi Matshikwe, Ethy Mbhalati, Thami Tsolekile and Alviro Petersen for offences under the Code relating to the 2015 RAM SLAM T20 Challenge Series," CSA said in a release.

"To date Tsotsobe has not been under any form of suspension. Under Article 4.7 of the Code, CSA has now provisionally suspended Tsotsobe from playing, coaching or otherwise being involved in any capacity in any match under its jurisdiction or that of the ICC or any other ICC member."

Former number 1 in the wold in ODI cricket wasn't he?

Really disappointing, just sad TBH. No excuse for him, being involved in this after an international career (in terms of education, awareness of the issues etc.).

The whole affair has been terrible. ended a number of good players careers. The only satisfying thing is that CSA handled it pretty maturely, did not hide anything and the players involved got life/career ending bans.

I'm actually not all that surprised by this. It was a little suspicious that he hasn't played any competitive cricket since December 2015, just before the investigation started.

No surprise really after the initial investigation was mentioned certain players just dropped off the map.... it seems to have been largely centered around the Lions franchise. They where doing quite well at that stage, if I remember correctly.

Lots of value lost with the issues regarding players of colour lots of good FC names lost to SA cricket. Petersen, Tsotsobe, Bodi, Tsolekile... very ill timed.
Judging by his attitude and behaviour when he played for Essex I'd still suggest nothing of value was lost but take your point on the others.
