Actually I am thinking the difference between Ambrose and Pollock isn't enough to swing this.

Even though Ambrose is a far better bowler, Shaun Pollock’s batting makes the biggest difference here(more than even Kallis’ bowling). He can play the role of a useful lower order defensive batsman and offer valuable support to his legendary teammate while batting.
