Jimmy Andersons 700th

FBU

International Debutant
Obviously the thinking was to put Broad up against Warner so them it's a choice between Jimmy and Robinson.

Robinson started in the mid 80 mph which is fine but then his pace dropped off - I wonder if the fall he had, knocked him a bit.

I'd not heard any speculation that Jimmy wouldn't open the bowling - I'd have opened with him and Broad.
Stokes decided to open with Anderson and Robinson and Broad first change before the Ashes. Broad was happy with that as Stokes said he would get more overs. With Warner as the opener Broad had to open... thinks Stokes. I wouldn't be surprised if Ali bowls before Anderson.

Cricinfo said it was the first time since Lord’s 2009 that Anderson didn’t take the new ball in a home test.

Anderson had been injured before this first test and had barely bowled for about a month

he will come on for the run after this first test pending injury
