But I don't believe Bumrah is marginally better, he's clearly better imo. The fitness issue, extra WPM and ofc the longevity of the career is why Lillee is ahead for me atm

in 1981, after 10-11 years of Cricket, Lillee had 315 @ 22 but he has the stupid WPI of 2.83, for example, Ashwin is a monster at home and his WPI in India is 3.00 iirc. Bumrah would've to clear him by too much to overturn the longevity, workload and WPI.

Bumrah will outbowl Lillee in all kinds of surfaces, including Aus. Lillee does not have much of a record in Ind/Asia and Bumrah avg sub 20 there as well. Despite all the talk about current era being bowler's era, not a single pacer from current era appears between Bumrah and Lillee.

I think quality gap is significant for me between these two.
