What's your problem with KJ having 72 wickets at 19?Don't get trundler started on Bond in test cricket

Definitely true, but looking at the votes it feels like the thread will be closed very soon.It would definitely be a shame if the theme of this thread got mixed up with other topics.
lol we don't close threads just because a poll is one sided, get outta hereDefinitely true, but looking at the votes it feels like the thread will be closed very soon.
Would be in the spirit of Philander to quit at this point though.lol we don't close threads just because a poll is one sided, get outta here
I assume Philander would've been hurt and unable to attend to begin with if he had to show up in person to this poll.Would be in the spirit of Philander to quit at this point though.
Sorry mate, of course you're right, poor from us.How typical for NZ fans to hijack the thread to talk about their own substandard players again. Should be an infractable offense at this point.
Both these men walk into the NZ ATG XI anyways
Sounds like a boring ass forum. There used to be a mod who warned posters if threads went off topic, especially if it involved fruit.
I played many a factional game to depose of the anti-fruit mod. Now we can talk about peaches in any thread we want.Sounds like a boring ass forum.
Philander probably would. Anderson wouldn't. He would have hardly played any tests as he averages 32.8 in tests in NZ (worse average here than Southee, Boult, Wagner, Martin, Tuffey, Jamieson, Bond, Oram, De Grandhomme, Mills, and Bracewell). Admittedly better than Matt Henry though. Both these men walk into the NZ ATG XI anyways
Aka the Navjot Singh Siddhu “better player of spin than Sachin” conundrumI'd pick Philander and Ambrose to open the bowling on a bouncy green deck like Joburg or Hobart. On reflection I'm not sure if Philander is elite in those particular conditions or if he just stands out more because he was ****e in most other circumstances.
AgreedAnderson playing in England is not the same as Philander playing in SA. England in the early 2010s occasionally had some really flat tracks. SA was far more sporting.
Yeah, Anderson didn't do as well in SA which is a mark against him but I have little doubt if his home conditions were SA he would have an average of 21/22 there over a longer stretch.
The point is Anderson has played key roles in series victories in India and Australia. He has won matches in SL and his series in the UAE are textbook examples of how seamers should adapt to those conditions.
Anderson is little more than a journeyman outside of seaming wickets. A pretty average shouldn't mask his limitations.
