International Debutant
Yes

They're in the country.

They won the ICC's showcase event recently.

They have the strongest board in the world.

They had a a significant number of players winning team honors.

I think the BCCI's attitude towards the ICC,and it's tendency to be at loggerheads with the governing body every now and then could land India in trouble somewhere down the road.Obviously, with the power the BCCI yields, and the revenue it generates would mean that the ICC might choose to ignore quite a few issues, but things are bound to boil over sometime.I'm not saying this only because India missed the awards, but there have been issues between BCCI and ICC regularly in the past. The only question is - How much will the ICC take?

Meh.

The "give a ****" factor very, very low. It's one of those non-stories that could be spun either way. India win the test series and don't turn up and then they're too Billy Big Biscuits to bother with the BCCI's annual reach-around.

Meant the ICC's. Freudian slip, etc.

One of the comments on cricinfo that made me lol

How can you complain about Indian cricketers not showing up for the ICC awards ceremony when they did not bother to show up for the India-England tour.

International Coach
Would have thought that we would actually applaud them for not going. Would come across a tad apish if they showed up to collect awards while their team was making the conscious effort of portraying Ian Bell as a Viv Richard's reincarnation in one day internationals.

Yes that 54 off 73 balls was very Viv like.;)

I think it was lame that they didn't go.

Having no one to accept the Spirit of Cricket award is fairly lol though.

Yeah exactly.

Surely someone in the Indian camp would have wanted a free feed and some booze.

The Tiger King
quoting the manager the article says that the boys had been given the day off in advance and could not be called back

Which is kind of a lazy excuse since ICC came back with saying they gave them much more time of notice than the manager was implying.

Seriously, who cares though.
